Friday morning forecast May 8th
A ridge of high pressure will shift east allowing for cooler temperatures and lighter winds. This will bring some much needed relief to the coasts while inland remain very warm. Plenty of sunshine will continue for Friday with above average conditions. Daytime highs along the coast will warm in the 70s, 80s. Interior valleys will remain in the 80s to low 90s.
As the region begins to favor an onshore flow the marine layer will return Saturday morning and become a repeated pattern into mid-week. This will allow for an increase in cloud coverage and areas of heavy fog along the Central and South Coast. Due to the cooling trend daytime highs along the coasts and valleys will primarily warm in the low to mid 70s for Mother's Day weekend.
A weak low pressure system from the west will approach Southwestern, California on Monday. This activity will bring much cooler temperatures on Tuesday along with a slight chance of showers. At this time models are not looking at any rain accumulation it is likely that favor mostly cloudy skies with stronger winds late week.
