Monday morning forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - March came in like a lion for the California Central Coast and South Coast on Sunday. Although the rain clouds are gone, the wind remains. We can expect a mostly sunny and milder Monday with continued gusty wind for most areas. Tonight will be fairly clear and cool. A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the California Central Coast through 4 PM Monday afternoon.

Tuesday we will have more sunshine and warmth as a ridge of high pressure builds over California. The ridge will stay in control of our weather through Thursday, but clouds will already push back into our sky by Thursday morning. Another trough will approach California Friday with more clouds, there will be a chance for wind and showers Saturday, with fewer clouds Sunday.

Overnight lows will get milder as we progress through the week and weekend as clouds increase. Valleys: lower 30s to lower 40s. Coasts: upper 30s to upper 40s. Daytime highs will climb above average through midweek before cooling below average again by Friday and this weekend. Highs will rise into the 60s and lower 70s before falling to the upper 50s and lower 60s. this coming weekend.
