Friday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - A lot of clouds began to stream over the California Central Coast and South Coast today ahead of our incoming storm system. Despite those clouds, temperatures were still very warm for the second to last day of February, with highs in the 70s and 80s. We'll have more clouds tonight & seasonably cool lows ranging from the lower 40s to the lower 50s.

A vigorous storm will move over California this weekend, but unfortunately for our drought-stricken state, only light amounts of rain will fall on Sunday, but we'll have a lot of wind Saturday through Monday. A ridge of high pressure will bring more sunshine and quieter weather next Tuesday and Wednesday before another trough brings more clouds late next week.

Overnight lows will begin relatively mild, cooling after the storm passage, then warming again late next week. Valleys: lower 30s to lower 40s. Coasts: lower 40s to lower 50s. Daytime highs won't be nearly as warm as they have been, bottoming out Sunday before warming through the middle of next week. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s this weekend, 70s next week.
