Thursday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - The marine layer silently pushed back onshore last night and we awoke to many areas of low clouds and fog along the California Central Coast and South Coast. Although we had plenty of afternoon sunshine, the low clouds and fog will return this evening through Friday morning. Lows will be seasonably cool, ranging from the mid 30s to the upper 40s.

Although Friday will begin a bit gray, we'll still have plenty of sunshine both Friday and Saturday afternoon. Sunday will begin fairly clear, but we can expect increasing clouds and stronger wind late Sunday and early Monday as another "inside slider" brushes past our state. After a brief break on Tuesday, more clouds will arrive Wednesday. We'll have more sun Thursday.

Overnight lows will stay fairly seasonable for all areas through late next week but will get a boost due to clouds and wind. Valleys: mainly 30s. Coasts: mainly 40s. Daytime highs will remain at or above-average through late next week with Saturday being the warmest day for most areas. Highs will be mainly in the 60s, but a few lower 70s will be possible Saturday afternoon.
