Monday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Monday was a warmer than average day for the California Central Coast and South Coast with plenty of sun, a few clouds, and some gusty wind. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the mountains and South Coast of Santa Barbara County through early Tuesday, with some gusts over 40 mph possible. We can expect a mostly clear and cool evening with lows in the 40s.

A trough of low pressure will move over the West Coast on Tuesday and Wednesday and will depart the region on Thursday. We can expect more gusty wind for many areas Tuesday and Wednesday, weakening Thursday. We'll have more sunshine and warmth Friday and Saturday under a ridge, with another cooling trend Sunday and more wind next Monday.

Overnight lows will remain in the seasonable range through early next week. Valleys: Upper 30s to lower and mid 40s. Coasts: 40s and a few lower 50s. Daytime highs will be above average for all areas, with the warmest days being Friday and Saturday. Valleys: lower 60s rising to the lower 70s. Coasts: upper 60s rising to the mid and upper 70s Friday and Saturday.
