Friday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - The rain we received on Thursday was refreshing, but those clouds departed quickly, leaving a clear and chilly morning and a bright and mild afternoon on Friday. High clouds are moving toward California this evening, and those high clouds will keep us a little milder Saturday morning. Lows will range from the lower 30s to the lower 40s.

A ridge of high pressure will be in control of our weather this weekend, but high clouds will still stream over the state, bringing a bright, gray and mild day. A trough of low pressure will move toward California Monday, and there will be a chance for showers mainly Tuesday. The latter half of next week will deliver fewer clouds and warmer highs.

Overnight lows will begin chilly for most of us, but it will get milder much of next week with more clouds. Valleys: lower 30s to lower 40s. Coasts: upper 30s to upper 40s. Daytime highs will oscillate below and above average, with warmer weather Sunday and late next week. Valleys: mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. Coasts: lower 60s warming to upper 60s.
