Thursday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - A cold front is moving over the California Central Coast and South Coast tonight, bringing rain, wind, and eventually mountain snow. A Wind Advisory for interior San Luis Obispo County and a Winter Weather Advisory for the Santa Barbara County mountains both continue through 10pm. With a clearer sky Friday morning, lows will be in the lower 30s to lower 40s.

As the rain clears our area overnight, the wind will also weaken quickly. We can expect morning sun and afternoon clouds on Friday with seasonable highs. We'll have more clouds but dry, mild weather this weekend. A trough will approach next week, bringing a chance for rain late Monday, and rain showers and wind Tuesday. We'll have fewer clouds late next week.

Overnight lows will begin chilly, but will get warmer with our increased clouds next week. Valleys: lower 30s warming to mid 40s. Coasts: upper 30s warming to near 50. Daytime highs will be on a rollercoaster over the next week, with the warmest days being Sunday and next Thursday. Valleys: mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. Coasts: lower 60s warming to upper 60s.
