Friday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - The final Friday of 2019 was a fantastic day for the California Central Coast and South Coast, but it started out a bit frosty, and it will be at least as chilly tomorrow morning for most areas. A Frost Advisory is in effect for the entire Central Coast through 9AM, with temperatures near freezing possible. Overnight lows will range from near 30 to lower 40s.

A ridge of high pressure currently over California will continue to bring sunshine to our state on Saturday, but high clouds will arrive late in the day and on Sunday, and a trough of low pressure will bring everyone a chance for rain late Sunday through late Monday. We'll have fewer clouds on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, with more sunshine late next week.

Overnight lows will start the next week fairly chilly, but they will become warmer by late next week. Valleys: lower 30s to the lower 40s. Coasts: lower 40s to the upper 40s. Daytime highs will be slightly below average through the end of the year, and the first three days of 2020 will be warmer. Valleys: 50s rising to the lower 60s. Coasts: lower 60s rising to the upper 60s.
