National Weather Service issues Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings for Central Coast areas through weekend

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. – The National Weather Service issued Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings for the following areas in Santa Barbara County through 11 p.m. Monday:

  • Santa Ynez Valley
  • Ojai Valley
  • Central Ventura County Valleys
  • Southeastern Ventura County Valleys
  • Including the cities of Lake Cachuma, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Solvang, Ojai, Fillmore, Santa Paula and more.

Santa Barbara County issued a ReadySCB Alert on Friday afternoon regarding the NWS announcement, advising residents and visitors to drink water and keep your family (including your pets) cool and hydrated.  

"Check on elderly neighbors and others that may be sensitive to hot conditions," the county said.
