Simi Valley Man Arrested After Hitting and Killing Man At Erringer Road 7-Eleven Monday

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 40-year-old Simi Valley man has been arrested for felony hit-and-run after fatally hitting Juan Huerta Rosales with a vehicle at the 7-Eleven on Erringer Road Monday.

On Aug. 31, around 4:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at 1369 Erringer Road stated a press release from the Simi Valley Police Department.

Arriving officers discovered that a vehicle had struck an adult man, identified by investigators as 55-year-old Juan Huerta Rosales, who was pronounced dead at the scene and then fled the area noted the Simi Valley Police Department.

Your News Channel learned from Simi Valley Police that the 55-year-old was standing in front of the convenience store when the 40-year-old pulled up to the storefront, collided with Rosales, backed away after the impact and into a vehicle getting filled up with gas.

At this point in their investigation, it does not appear the men knew each other shared local police.

According to Simi Valley Police, officers discovered the involved vehicle abandoned during a search of the surrounding area and eventually located the driver, a 40-year-old Simi Valley man.

He was taken into custody without further incident and booked on a charge of felony hit-and-run resulting in death shared the local law enforcement agency.
