Honolulu Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Leaving Santa Paula Woman in Critical Condition

SANTA PAULA, Calif. (KEYT) – A 35-year-old Honolulu man has been arrested for attempted murder after a 65-year-old Santa Paula woman was found with life-threatening head injuries Thursday.

On Aug. 20, around 10:55 a.m., officers responded to a call of an adult woman with a head injury at a property in the 18000 block of East Telegraph Road stated a press release Friday from the Santa Paula Police Department.

Arriving officers found a woman, later identified as a 65-year-old Santa Paula resident, with life-threatening head injuries from a blunt force-type object outside of the property and she was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment where she remains in critical condition detailed the Santa Paula Police Department.

According to Santa Paula Police, the suspected attacker, a 35-year-old Honolulu man, had fled the scene after the attack and was located near Goleta before being taken into custody after a traffic stop around 12:15 p.m. the same day.

Local law enforcement took the man into custody and shared they believe that he was intending to use the nearby airport to flee the region and avoid arrest so his bail has been set at $2,000,000.
