KEYT

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 30-year-old Oxnard man suffered major injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Rice Avenue Thursday morning.

On Aug. 20, around 7:43 a.m., dispatchers received calls about a crash on Rice Avenue, south of Wooley Road, stated a press release from the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area (CHP).

According to the CHP, an investigation revealed that a 30-year-old Oxnard man was driving a gray Ram 1500 southbound on Rice Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, the truck veered to the left, across the northbound lane, and then into a chain-link fence on the left shoulder of the roadway.

The Ram came to rest in a private agricultural field and the Oxnard man suffered major injuries as a result of the crash noted the CHP.

The 30-year-old was transported to Ventura County Medical Center for further medical treatment added the CHP.

At this point in their investigation, the CHP shared that alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the crash, but anyone with more information is asked to contact the CHP Ventura office at 805-662-2640.
