Two Oxnard schools put on inclement weather schedule after nearby structure fire Friday

OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) – Driffill Elementary and Dr. Manuel Lopez Academy of Arts and Sciences were both placed under an inclement weather schedule after a structure fire was extinguished in the area.

According to the Oxnard School District, the fire was at an on-campus facility on C Street and is now out, but the exact cause remains under investigation.

The schools remained on the inclement weather schedule due to the nearby fire's impact on air quality, but the pickup process for both schools is not expected to be changed shared the Oxnard School District.
