Police arrest suspected robber of Ventura convenience store

VENTURA, Calif. -- Ventura Police arrested one man involved in an armed robbery of Circle K on early Friday morning.

On Friday at around 3:09 a.m., Ventura police responded to a robbery at the Circle K business at 11051 Citrus Drive in Ventura.

At arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered Circle K and began demanding cigarettes.

The suspect brandished a knife and came back behind the register. He then instructed the clerk to open the cash register.

The suspect took several packs of cigarettes and cash form the register.

The clerk provided a description to the officers and the officers looked around the area.

Officers later located the suspect matching the description given by the clerk.

Police identified the robber as Juan Jimenez, 18. Officers found several boxes of cigarettes and cash in his possession.

Officers booked Jimenez in Ventura County Jail for robbery.

No one was injured as a result of this incident.
