Man killed after crashing into power pole in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. - A man was killed after he crashed his car into a power pole in Ventura late Monday night.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on the 5100 block of Vineyard Avenue.

A vehicle ran into a power pole causing power lines to fall down in the road and caused all of the northbound traffic to be shutdown.

Southern California Edison arrived on scene and advise people in that area to turn off their power while they restored the power lines.

The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old Ventura man, died at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.

The crash is under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol at 805-662-2640.
