Man killed in crash on W. Camino Cielo near Santa Barbara identified

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A Goleta man killed in a crash Sunday afternoon on West Camino Cielo near Highway 154 has been identified.

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, Jonathan Garcia-Bogarin, 23, of Goleta was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 12:45 p.m. on the 7000 block of West Camino Cielo about eight miles west of Highway 154.

California Highway Patrol and Santa Barbara County Fire found a 2021 Jeep Gladiator had rolled on its side with the driver partially ejected. Garcia-Bogarin was declared dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, CHP said.

The crash remains under investigation by CHP.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by friends of Garcia-Bogarin in an effort to help cover funeral expenses.
