MONTECITO, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Roads Commissioner has agreed to enforce parking restrictions along Miramar Avenue and Humphrey’s Road in Montecito for fire safety.

"No Parking" signs will be placed on the north side of the 100 blocks of both
Humphrey Road and Miramar Avenue. The restrictions will be enforced Fridays through Sundays beginning Friday, August 21.

These temporary restrictions are to help open roadways for fire engines in the event of an emergency.

Crowded streets put the community at risk by reducing access for the fire department and impacting residents' abilities to evacuate.

These new parking regulations will be enforced by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office. Citations will be issued to violators.

"We sincerely appreciate the community’s assistance on this matter as your Fire Department strives to ensure reasonable access so that we can provide efficient and effective emergency response to all community members in their time of need," said the Montecito Fire Department.
