Bicyclist in critical condition after crash with car on Highway 154 near Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Fire, California Highway Patrol and AMR responded to a crash involving a car and bicyclist at Highway 154 and San Antonio Creek Road.
The call came in at 9:43 a.m. on Saturday. SBC Fire responded Engine 13 and Battalion Chief 12.
Fire Captain Nikki Stevens said the bicyclist sustained major injuries and was in critical condition. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. We do not know his current condition.
It is unclear if anyone in the car, described as a Toyota Prius, was injured during the crash.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision and temporarily shut down Highway 154 in both directions to respond to the crash, however, all lanes have since reopened.
