SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara CHP said boulders fell into the road on the Eastbound lane of Highway 154 Sunday evening.

CHP said the boulders fell just west of the power lines.

The Eastbound lanes of the highway will be temporarily closed and traffic is being routed through the Westbound lane.

CHP said to expect heavy traffic delays if traveling on Highway 154 and, if possible, use the U.S. 101 as an alternate route.

Santa Barbara CHP and Caltrans District 5 are working quickly to remove the boulders from the road.
