Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office deputies search for armed bow-and-arrow suspect

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for an armed bow-and-arrow suspect near Tepesquet Canyon.

A SIG Alert blocking both Tepesquet Canyon and Santa Maria Roads is in place and SBCSO deputies advised the public to avoid the area during their search.

CHP and SBCSO deputies are not allowing cars to pass through Tepesquet Road and the emergency first started just before 1:00 p.m. Friday.

Firefighters are also present in the area, and it remains unclear whether or not the suspect is in a home or near the hills in the search spot, according to the SBCSO.
