Man waving machete in hospital after Oxnard Police officer involved shooting

OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) – A man waving a machete, threatening bystanders, is in the hospital after an Oxnard Police Department officer-involved shooting.

OPD officers received calls about the incident just past noon on Monday about a man waving a machete near the 5000 block of Saviers Road.

OPD officers contacted the man, then shot him before taking him to the hospital. His condition remains unknown at this time as OPD officers attempt to identify him.
