Former St. Joseph standout Caedin Hamilton signs with Marquette
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Not a lot of colleges took interest in St. Joseph 6'10 senior Caedin Hamilton this past season.
So Caedin kept working and grinding even after graduation.
The hard work paid off as head coach Shaka Smart noticed and now Caedin Hamilton is headed to Marquette University to play for Smart and the Golden Eagles.
With his family by his side and friends all around at the Firestone Grill, Caedin Hamilton signed his National Letter of Intent.
"Marquette, like the first day I got out there like they treated me like family," began Hamilton. "I met all the players and coaches, built a relationship like the past few months, text me everyday, facetime me, text my family so I knew it was the place for me."
Hamilton scored almost 13 points and had over 10 rebounds per game this past season for St. Joseph as he helped the Knights to a CIF-Central Section Division 1 title as well as a runner-up finish in the CIF-State Open Division.
He improved his game this summer playing for the BTI College Prep Basketball Club.
Hamilton is thrilled at the chance to play for Smart.
"I am super excited," said Hamilton who will enroll at Marquette this fall instead of attending a prep school in Massachusetts. "I can't wait to get out there start working with him one on one and be under his wing and with the team."
