PG&E helicopter power line inspection in SLO County and northern SB County

Utility company says it’s an emergency preparedness drill

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif - Helicopters flying at low altitudes will be inspecting PG&E power transmission lines that traverse northern Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County starting today.

Helicopters will be flying above PG&E power lines west of Templeton and Paso Robles today and east of Nipomo and the Huasna area tomorrow.

The company says there will be a full scale emergency drill on Friday in both areas as part of a simulated public safety power shutoff in the event of a major wildfire that impacts power transmission lines.
