Coast Village Road Bank of America Robbed Wednesday; Suspect Remains At Large

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – The Bank of America on Coast Village Road was robbed Wednesday afternoon and the suspect remains at large.

On Aug. 19, around 2:56 p.m., dispatchers received multiple 911 calls about a robbery in progress at the Bank of America at 1096 Coast Village Road stated a press release from the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Bank employees shared with investigators that a masked person entered the bank, brandished what appeared to be a firearm, demanded money and then fled the area on a bicycle detailed the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Officers and Sheriff's deputies searched the surrounding area, but were unable to locate the suspect who remains at large shared the local law enforcement agency.

According to Santa Barbara Police, the incident appears to be isolated and it is not currently believe that there is an ongoing threat to the public, but the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
