Adult Woman Taken to Hospital After Being Hit by Passenger Train Wednesday Afternoon

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – A woman was transported after being hit by a passenger train on the railroad tracks running alongside Highway 101, just south of the Las Positas overpass, Wednesday.

On Aug. 12, around 3:20 p.m., dispatchers received a report that a southbound passenger train had struck a pedestrian who was on the tracks parallel to southbound Highway 101 stated a press release from the Santa Barbara Police Department.

First responders found an unconscious adult woman had been hit by the train, but she was still breathing and had a pulse shared the local law enforcement agency.

According to Santa Barbara Police, the woman was quickly transported to Cottage Hospital for further medical treatment.

The passenger train was able to continue its southbound route around 4:15 p.m. added the Santa Barbara Police Department.

This incident is currently under investigation noted the local police department.
