Cottage Health: New clinic expands access to primary care for adults in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Cottage Health is expanding access to healthcare thanks to a new primary care clinic in Santa Barbara.

“We have an absolute need in the community for primary care and seeing a regular doctor just to check in … our demographic here and our population here often times feels abandoned in the last couple of years," said Dr. Yana Gristan of Cottage Health.

Located on Oak Park Lane, doctors at the new clinic will offer in-person and virtual medical care to adult patients.

“Long wait times just to ask simple questions ... getting preventative care, and we’re here to try to fix that problem … provide more access to the community and stream access," said Gristan.

Doctors hoping the new clinic will provide more access to the community where appointments can be made online or by phone.

“And we will be at bridge between the whole cottage health system, being able to refer patients out to specialist being connected to the urgent cares, and also to cottage hospital itself," said Dr. Arielle Kanner of Cottage Primary Care.

"We have some amazing doctors they have been working here for many many years and they great, but they are just overwhelmed and the demand of healthcare, and we hope to alleviate that stress for them as well our patients," said Gristan.

Doctors hope this new primary care clinic will provide personalized care for wellness and prevention, as well as early detection and management of health conditions.

Cottage Primary Care, located at 2329 Oak Park Lane is now open and accepting new patients.

Yana Gristan, MD and Arielle Kanner, DO, both of whom completed residency at Santa Barbara Cottage
Hospital, are the lead physicians at the new clinic.

They offer in-person and virtual medical care to adult patients at the new location.

Gristan and Kanner believe in the importance of building strong patient-physician relationships.
