Santa Paula man arrested for DUI, drugs, and drug manufacturing materials

GOLETA, Calif. – A 24-year-old Santa Paula man passed out in their car in the 5500-block of Hollister was arrested on Friday in Goleta for driving under the influence.

According to Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, a good Samaritan reported a suspected DUI driver that triggered their response around 6:27 p.m. on Jul. 21.

During a search of the 24-year-old man's car, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office deputies found a clandestine drug manufacturing lab with numerous controlled substances including methamphetamine, heroin, LSD, MDMA, and psilocybin detail the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office also relays that evidence of drug sales and manufacturing were also found in the vehicle.

The 24-year-old was booked at the main jail for driving under the influence (misdemeanor), possession of burglary tools (misdemeanor), maintaining a lab for manufacturing drugs (felony), drug sales (felony), and transportation for sales (felony).

The man was later released on bail.
