Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office apprehends armed intruder in Carpinteria with public’s help

CARPINTERIA, Calif. – A 30-year-old resident of Santa Barbara was arrested Tuesday afternoon for charges related to a burglary near Carpinteria.

The man was identified by a witness that responded to the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office's call for public assistance Tuesday morning.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office responded to the 800 block of San Point Road for an intruder with a knife.

That knife-wielding person fled the scene but was apprehended Tuesday afternoon detail Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office's Public Information Officer in the tweet below.

The 30-year-old man was booked at the Main Jail for a misdemeanor brandishing a knife, felony burglary, and felony dissuading a witness according to Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
