Water main break reported on 3800 block of State Street Thursday morning

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The City of Santa Barbara's Public Works Department is currently working to repair a water main break at 3868 State Street near the cross street of N. La Cumbre Road on Thursday.

During the repairs, the 3800 block of State Street and the 100 to 200 blocks of North Hope will not receive water service.

Additionally, the northbound lanes of upper State Street, between Hope Street and La Cumbre are closed to traffic. City crews will monitor traffic flow in the area.

The Public Works Department anticipate water service will be restored later Thursday afternoon.

Businesses known to be impacted at this time inlcude: Target, The Best Western Hotel, Cottage Health Urgent Care, Wells Fargo, and The Marc and Grace Village Apartments.

The City indicates it will update its Nextdoor page and social media channels as information is made available.
