Four arrested in connection with December Stearns Wharf fatal shooting

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif.–  Four people have been arrested in connection with the Dec. 9 Stearns Wharf homicide of 52-year-old Robert Dion Gutierrez in a joint law enforcement effort carried out in multiple locations across Santa Barbara Thursday.

The 52-year-old Camarillo resident was shot in the area of Stearns Wharf and Cabrillo Blvd. on Dec. 9 and was transported to Cottage Hospital. Gutierrez died as a result of the gunshot wound on Dec. 20.

Santa Barbara Police Department, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, and Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office through a combined effort arrested four adults ranging in age 20-22 for their possible connection to the murder.

A 16-year-old male was also arrested for the possession of a firearm as law enforcement served a warrant for the home the minor was found in.
