Lompoc police investigating attempted armed robbery of liquor store

LOMPOC, Calif. -- Lompoc police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a liquor store on Sunday.

Around 7:30 p.m., Lompoc police responded to reports of an attempted armed robbery at Highway 1 Liquor Store on the 600 block of North H Street.

The suspect had reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police spoke with a clerk inside the business and determined the suspect had entered the liquor store and displayed a gun to the clerk.

The clerk intervened and the suspect ran from the scene.

Officers say the suspect did not take anything and there were no injuries reported from the intervention.

The suspect is still outstanding.

This is an ongoing investigation.
