SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Target closed a number of stores due to the ongoing unrest following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The Target store on Main Street in Ventura was evacuated Sunday afternoon. Workers were sent home with little explanation.

The Target on State Street in Santa Barbara closed as well and posted signs and taped off areas to keep people away from the entrance.

People in both communities held peaceful demonstrations.

Some shopping malls stayed closed on Sunday following looting at stores in large cities.
