146th AirLift Wing to honor healthcare professionals with military flyover

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The 146th AirLift Wing, a unit of the California Air National Guard will honor healthcare professionals on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles Counties on Thursday.

The mid-air salute includes a military flyover on May 14, beginning at 2pm in Palmdale. The flyover will make its way West over Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and then turn North up the coast to Northern Ventura County and Southern Santa Barbara County to Santa Barbara and back.

We've included a map showing the path the flyover will take and the approximate times for each city.

Residents will be able to see the flyover from the safety of their own homes. The 146th AirLift Wing is asking that everyone practices physical distancing and do not gather at hospitals and landmarks in large groups to view the flyover.

Instead, officials are asking spectators to follow along on social media and share photos using the hashtags #146AW #Americastrong #calguard
