Shandon Unlicensed Daycare Operator Javier RiveraMojica Arrested for Lewd Acts on Children Wednesday

SHANDON, Calif. (KEYT) – On Wednesday, 67-year-old Javier RiveraMojica was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged lewd acts on multiple children under the age of 14 at an unlicensed daycare operated out of his home on South Fourth Street.

On Aug. 5, detectives served a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of South Fourth Street in Shandon as part of an investigation into lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 stated a press release from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

As a result of the evidence collected during their investigation, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's noted that RiveraMojica was arrested and booked on a no-bail arrest warrant for multiple counts of lewd acts on children under the age of 14.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, RiveraMojica gained access to numerous survivors through the unlicensed daycare he and his wife operated out of their home on South Fourth Street.

At this point in the investigation, the Sheriff's Office shared it is working to discover if there are additional survivors that have yet to come forward and the investigation into these allegations remains open and active.
