Buildings Evacuated and Streets Closed for Gas Leak Near Downtown City Park Tuesday

PASO ROBLES, Calif. (KEYT) – Streets were closed and nearby buildings evacuated as crews responded to a natural gas leak from a damaged gas line in the 1200 block of Railroad Street Tuesday.

According to the City of Paso Robles, repairs and a safety assessment were completed by responders and the gas company before the road closures and building evacuations were lifted.

Railroad Street and Pine Street, between 12th Street and 13th Street, were closed and nearby buildings were evacuated as teams worked to secure the gas leak.

The public was asked to avoid the area until it was deemed safe and the City of Paso Robles added that it appreciated the community's response that allowed the emergency response to work efficiently and safely.
