The search continues for Kyle Doan with over 300 search and rescue personnel

SAN MIGUEL, Calif. -- The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department partnered with local and state agencies to continue the search for 5-year-old Kyle Doan today in the Salinas River.

Kyle was ripped away from his mother's arms in January by floodwaters in the San Marcos Creek.

The sheriff's office has held several searches for Kyle since. This weekend's search will have over 300 search and rescue trained personnel from across California.

The search will be six miles long and half a mile wide from the San Marcos Creek confluence to the Big Sandy Creek confluence.

Heavy machinery and K9s will be readily available if evidence of Kyle's location is found.

The sheriff's office is asking for the community members to hold back from from voluntary searches due to at risk circumstances in the Salinas River..
