OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) People lined up early to enjoy DW Factory Day.

The free event presented by Guitar Center took place at Drum Workshop off Lunar Ct. in Oxnard on Nov. 7.

Special guests included Thomas Lang, Trevor Lawrence Jr., Colin Brittain, and Chad Wackerman.

Some of them inspired customers to build their dream kits.

Visitors had a chance to try drums on display and buy equipment at factory pricing.

Don Lombardi, Chris Lombardi and John Good are the leaders of the company that is now a subsidiary of Roland.

A highlight of DW Factory Day is always the tour.

This year there is a new showroom that includes the last drum kit played the late Neil Peart of Rush.

"We are really excited to have the public here, we've been gearing up this new room for months and we have been excited to show everybody, so everyone here today will be able see the new showroom that we are very proud of, as well as get a tour of the factory and then see a bunch of cool clinics and all kinds of cool stuff today, so DW Day, once a year, we are very excited," said Customer Service Supervisor Brent Wetli

Some visitors came ready to buy.

"I bought a snare drumhead, I had never seen this head before they kind of sold me on it and I bought a new symbol stand the pricing was really good, kind of hard to turn down I came looking to buy, so, wanted to go home with something," said Stpehen Lauver of Northridge.'

He bought a REMO drumhead.

If DW fans missed the event there are tours on Thursday afternoons.

"We do public tours once a week, so you will be able to learn see how things are made we start from scratch to finish from the wood to the final product," said Wetli.
