Clock tower opens again at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- The Santa Barbara County Courthouse has reopened the iconic clock tower area for the public after it was closed for months due to the pandemic.

The tower offers sweeping views of the city all the way from the mountains, through downtown and to the ocean.

Access is through a security check on the first floor and an elevator or stairs.

The courthouse is one of California's most architecturally beautiful buildings. It was designed in the Spanish-Colonial style when it was built in 1929.

The view from the clock tower also looks down into the sunken gardens where community events, casual lunches and weddings often take place.

The building is visited by thousands of people annually and is one of the most photographed sites in Santa Barbara.
