Firefighters knock down structure fire in Lompoc

LOMPOC, Calif. -- Firefighters knocked down a structure fire on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday at around 11:59 a.m., Lompoc City firefighters provided assistance to a structure fire on the 900 block of East Lemon Avenue.

Santa Barbara County Fire and Vandenberg Air Force Fire Deparment also responded to the fire.

They arrived to a single story, single family home with smoke and flames at the front of the home.

Fire officials say all the residents were evacuated but a dog was still inside the home.

Lompoc City Fire crews made an interior attack and were able to contain the fire.

Fire crews rescued the dog and say that the dog had no injuries.

Crews were able to knock down the fire within 10 minutes.

They remained on scene for another hour to assist with salvage and overhaul.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
