Man arrested after gun is drawn at Arroyo Grande bar

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. – A man was arrested after he allegedly pulled a gun at an Arroyo Grande bar.

It happened early Saturday morning at a bar on the 100 block of West Branch Street.

Police were dispatched to the bar after receiving reports of a man brandishing a firearm.

Officers arrived on scene and saw two men running from the scene. Officers tried to stop the men, but they managed to get away and continued to flee.

The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office, Grover Beach Police Department and Pismo Beach Police Department sent officers to assist in the search for the suspects. The large police presence was ultimately able to locate the two men who were hiding.

Both men were detained without further incident, according to the Arroyo Grande Police Department.

During a search, a loaded handgun was recovered which was believed to have been discarded by one of the suspects.

After reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses, police identified one of the men as the person who had brandished the gun.

He was taken into custody and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail where he awaits charges for making terrorist threats, exhibiting a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm and resisting/obstructing officers.
