Nipomo man facing illegal gun charges following arrest
NIPOMO, Calif. -- A Nipomo man was arrested for possession of guns after a probation search on Thursday.
Around 10 a.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Task Force, San Luis Obispo County Probation Department and the Arroyo Grande Police Department conducted a probation search on the 300 block of Neptune Drive in Nipomo.
During their search of the 20-year-old Nipomo man's home, they found several items that prompted a further investigation.
Detectives say the items found were related to gang affiliation, a Glock Micro Conversion Kit, large capacity magazines and two assault rifles.
Two of the firearms found were a Panther Arms A-15 semi-automatic Short Barreled Rifle and another was a semi-automatic "ghost gun" Short Barreled Rifle.
Detectives arrested the 20-year-old Nipomo man for possession of an assault weapon and possession of a short barreled rifle.
He was booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
