Oxnard police investigating fatal shooting near Channel Islands Harbor
OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police are investing their sixth homicide of the year.
It happened Sunday morning near the Channel Islands Harbor.
Around 10:37 a.m., police received a call regarding several shots fired in the area of 3550 South Harbor Boulevard and Blue Fin Circle near Hollywood Beach.
Upon arriving, officers located a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was next a red pickup truck in a parking lot between Channel Islands Harbor Farmers Market and the Channel Islands Boating Center.
Officers rendered CPR measures until emergency medical crews arrived.
The man, 48 died on the pavement.
His name is currently being withheld until his family is notified.
Witness told KEYT they heard at least six gunshots. They also saw a black SUV drive away.
Detectives have not released any information regarding suspects at this time.
However, they are encouraging anyone who may have video or photos of all or part of the incident to upload the media directly to investigators online here. Contact information will not be stored, allowing community members to remain anonymous.
