Police: Body found near Gaviota was suspect in Anaheim double homicide
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A body that was found near Gaviota State Beach Sunday was identified as a man wanted in connection to a double homicide in Orange County.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 57-year-old Jorge Pino. Pino was a resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Pino was wanted in connection to a double homicide in Anaheim that was discovered in the early morning before Pino's body was found.
Anaheim police responded to an apartment in Anaheim and discovered the bodies of 47-year-old Maria Ernestina Ramirez of Anaheim and 40-year-old Efrain Hernandez-Ramirez of Placentia.
Pino was quickly identified as a suspect in the murders. Pino and Ramirez had a long-term relationship that had recently ended, police said.
Later that morning, while police were preparing to serve an arrest warrant for Pino, his body was found in the Gaviota area.
Pino died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
