Wild chase through Grover Beach and Arroyo Grande ends with car through wall
GROVER BEACH, Calif. - Arroyo Grande Police Department Detectives identified a stolen car around 2 p.m. driving west on Grand Avenue in Arroyo Grande.
California Highway Patrol responded and led deputies on a chase to Grover Beach. The driver took off on foot after crashing the car into a wall outside a home. Local law enforcement responded to the foot chase and arrested the driver as well as the passenger he left behind when he crashed the car.
The stolen car was originally reported stolen from a home in Grover Beach the week before the chase. CHP responded to the incident as both Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach police were busy on other calls for service.
The car crashed into a home near Atlantic City Ave and 5th Street in Grover Beach. As the driver ran from the police, he left behind his passenger to fend for herself. The Grover Beach Police Department commented, "no honor among thieves apparently."
Both the driver and passenger have been arrested on multiple charges. The stolen car was recovered but is totaled.
