Sutter Health hosts Breast Cancer Panel

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) Sutter Health hosted a breast cancer panel this week in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Sutter Health Greater Central Coast hosted the discussion at its Ridley-Tree Cancer Center in Santa Barbara

Experts talked about breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment advances.

"The experts on our panel talked about how things are advancing literally day by day, and they stay up to date not only with regard to the advancements in their respective fields," said moderator Lindsay Corina of Sutter Health.

"The difference from 3 years ago to now is that we can actually choose the therapy that the patients will receive in the adjuvant setting after their surgery based on genetical evaluation," said Dr. Maira Campos.
