Santa Barbara pumpkin patch sees slower business ahead of Halloween

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Halloween is approaching, but business at Lane Farms has been slower than usual as recent heat and changing weather affect visits to the popular Santa Barbara pumpkin patch.

The family-owned farm typically draws families looking to celebrate fall and pick out pumpkins ahead of Halloween.

This season, however, warmer temperatures have affected turnout, creating challenges during an important time of year for the business.

Despite the slower pace, young visitors are still enjoying the tradition of searching for their favorite pumpkins.

For families, a trip to the patch remains a chance to enjoy the Halloween season together.

Lane Farms hopes more customers will visit as Halloween draws closer and temperatures become more comfortable.
