Historic Montecito estate hits market for $25 Million
MONTECITO, Calif. - The historic Montecito estate is on the market for the first time in more than half a century.
“We are at the McCormick Fearing estate a property that has not been available to the public for over 65 years," said realtor Tiffany Doré of Village Properties.
Designed by renowned Architect Robert Spurgeon Jr., Oakhaven Estate is an authentic version of a Spanish Hacienda house — a design that dates back to the Roman Empire.
“We’re standing in this fantastic old California hacienda. It’s everything people dream of when looking for haciendas. It has beautiful ocean views Mountain Views," said realtor Cathy O'Neill of Village Properties.
While living on the 17-acre estate Located on Romero Canyon Road, the late owner Constance McCormick Fearing loved nature, so much, she donated land to create a nature trail for the community.
“She turned around and designated a wide path from Romero canyon all the way up to belavista and gave it to the public and it’s the constant McCormick trail," said Doré.
The 6-bedroom, 5-bathroom home is detailed with craftsmanship unique to the 1920’s era.
This includes a library with intricate wood paneling and a fireplace; a grand living room which opens to a courtyard, and a long driveway canopied with mature oaks.
"They are very big shoes to fill both families the fearing and the McCormicks were both incredibly giving families … and I believe the next family that comes here is going to carry on that spirit," said Doré.
The Mediterranean Courtyard house, currently for sale at $25 million dollars is attracting interest from coast to coast.
“My hope is to have the next owner come in and embrace this property for all of its beauty and originality and try and preserve the land and stay here for another 65 years," said Doré. "It’s a unique property because it’s a high price right. I think our volume or calls have been really significant."
ealtors of Village Properties are getting an average of 10 to 20 calls from interested buyers including several celebrities.
