Blind kids and young adults get the experience of a lifetime

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Local surf school Surf Happens, partnered with Blind Fitness of Santa Barbara and Wayfinder to give blind kids and young adults the experience of a lifetime.

The 1st annual Blind Surfer Day took place at Santa Claus Lane in Carpinteria over the weekend. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of surfing, safety and the protocol for riding waves and standing.

Surfboards were provided by Channel Islands Surfboards and wet suits were donated by Body Glove.
