Pedestrians hit near Carpinteria High expected to be OK
CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Two people were hit by a driver Thursday morning in front of Carpinteria High School.
At 7:47 a.m., Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies received a call that a two-door red Toyota sedan had hit two people.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found two people awake and alert, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota had stayed behind to wait for law enforcement to arrive.
Deputies do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash. The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
