Parolee arrested for attempted robbery and car theft in Port Hueneme
PORT HUENEME, Calif. - Officers from the Port Hueneme Police Department arrested parolee David Lumas, 31 of Oxnard for multiple offenses.
Around 11:25 a.m., officers responded to an attempted robbery in the 200 Block of Ocean Walk Court. Lumas had confronted a resident and attempted to take his car keys from him.
While responding, officers received an additional call in the 300 Block of East Scott Street which is located one block north of the first call. A suspect matching the same description was attempting to take a vehicle from a resident.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing a blue Superman shirt with a star tattoo on his face. He unsuccessful in both crimes.
Witnesses in the area were able to provide police with the suspect’s last direction of travel.
Officers found and stopped Lumas while he was walking in front of the Port Hueneme Police Station in the 200 Block of North Ventura Road.
Lumas was arrested for attempted robbery and attempted auto theft and was additionally charged with a residential burglary he had committed at around 9:00 a.m. in the 4700 Block of South G Street in the City of Oxnard.
Lumas, who was out on parole for first degree robbery, was transferred to the Ventura County Jail where he is being held without bail.
Lumas is also on probation for petty theft.
